Hello everyone, Almost a year ago I was assaulted by a stranger in his apartment. The case has been dropped by the police and it's been hard to reconcile what has happened to me. I'm a full-time graduate student and have also found it extraordinarily difficult to continue my program in arts and writing. Something that's given me hope and a place to focus my thoughts and energy is a project I've been working on. I'd like to invite you all to participate, but only if it is helpful for you to do so. One thing I find very frustrating about my experience is the issue of voice. I feel like survivors are given the difficult situation of either speaking out, and identifying themselves, or remaining silent. I'd like to offer an alternative. By participating in this project, you can tell your story however NO identifying information will ever be used. You can read more about the project and participate at the following site: artagainstassault.blogspot.com/Even if you do not feel like participating, please remember that together we are strong and can make a difference to both those who are survivors and members of the public who are not informed. We do not have to be silent but we also can choose how and when (and if) we speak. My heart goes out to all of you who are struggling to find your way. You will find it. Be strong.
