Please make sure you read and understand all of the following BEFORE you start posting. Thank you.
This forum was designed to help survivors of sexual abuse or assault. While you are here we ask that you follow a few simple rules. Once you begin to post it is assumed that you have read and understood the following rules:
We welcome all survivors of sexual abuse or assault. Unfortunately because of the adult nature of this room we ask that all participants be sixteen (16) and above. Once we receive notification that you have joined the forums you will be given access to the appropriate folders. The sharing of accounts by multiple users is strictly forbidden. Each person who wishes to use these forums needs to register their own account. Failure to do so may result in the account and all associated IP addresses being banned permanently.
Secondary survivors are more then welcome to join the forums. Even though we are mainly a support forum for survivors we are more then happy to help you deal with whatever effects your loved ones abuse has had on you. We do ask that if your loved one comes here that you get permission from them to be here. If we find out that you do not have permission from them to be here it will be grounds for being banned from the site or taken down to limited access. Survivors may at anytime revoke their permission for you to be here. Please remember that we are here for them first and foremost.
For members with DID, alters are allowed on this board. We understand that DID is something that some people have to deal with. We ask that you always identify your system. There is a folder under the tuff topics tabs where you can identify your "crew". Please make sure all alters obey the rules posted here. Failure to do so could result in the entire system being banned. We take DID very seriously. If you are found to be faking DID you will be banned. Please make sure all alters that are going to come here have their own name and always post under their own name. This will help eliminate confusion.
Moderators will make all final decisions on someone status in these forums. Moderators will also be given the authority to decide if a post needs to be moved, closed, edited, or deleted. In most if not all cases you will be notified by Private Message (PM) if something changes with a post of yours.
As with any site on the Internet you should not provide any personal information about yourself or anyone else. This includes but is not limited to your last name, social security number, phone number, or address. It is also a good idea to not give out your school email or an email containing you name.
If you are having a problem with another member we ask that you try to resolve it personally. If you find that despite your attempts to resolve the issue through PM or Email is not working then please contact a moderator with any and all information on the issue. Please keep in mind though that public opinions are welcome, but there will be absolutely no attacks on any members, public or private. If you are found to be attacking someone it will be grounds for banning.
This site is for support. There will be no request for money, housing, transportation, or any other similar activities made in these forums. There is a folder where people can post links and phone numbers to different agencies. If you need further help a moderator can try to help you find what you are looking for.
Spamming is not allowed in these forums. If you post something that is a commercial listing your post will be removed, and if that appears to be your only reason for posting then we may remove your rights to these forums. Please do not make a post sharing a commercial or personal website unless you are posting something to help another member.
We are NOT professional counselors or therapists. There are many places where you can find support in your area. You can look for specific agencies in the folder for links and referrals or you can contact RAINN for a crisis center in your area. The RAINN website is www.rainn.org/counseling.html. If you are feeling suicidal please do not expect anyone here to be able to deal with it. You can call the suicide prevention hotline in the United States at 1-800-784-2433. Please keep in mind that Moderators can see your IP address and if we see post that is threatening suicide we will move the post and may contact the authorities in your area to make sure you are safe.
